While a simple design, it’s the little things that take the most time building a box-joint bench or table like this. Determining demensions and how each 2×4 will be cut to maximize the use of each piece, picking out STRAIGHT 2x4s, cutting them STRAIGHT, glueing and clamping STRAIGHT, sanding and of course staining and poly to protect it.
This sofa table was ordered by a friend to match a bench I built for them in the same style. They are heavy, solid pieces that add a rustic/modern style to any room. I keep a box-joint bench at the end of my bed and also have a sofa table behind my couch.
All in all, a very fun to build 🙂
